Yeondoo Jung
Jung's constructed realities are a form of my ultimate dream. In my current series, I find myself wanting to let the viewer know that I, the photographer, have control over everything they see. In school we are often taught of how photography is seen as the truth, as is highly respected over other mediums because it "can't depict what wasn't their". We all know that isn't necessarily the case in this day and age, but people are still inclined to believe it. And that is why I'm so inclined to discount the notion of truthful reality in photography. This seems to be a constant in both mine and Jung's work.
Jung goes out of the way to show the viewer how easily their viewed "reality" can be deconstructed and replaced by another reality. Hopefully my work will point to the same thing, only more subtly in my current series.
